Intel wants laptops to become as modular as desktop PCs

Okay? Then start selling socketed mobile chips again. You’re the one that made laptops unupgradable when you switched to BGA only and now you’re pretending to want a solution to that?

I read something about super flat RAM with 512 lane ball connections? As a Cheap and fast alternative to hbm?

      Industry standard CPU socket?

Thin Graphics Cards with less than 80 watt power draw?

Nooo it was just a dream.

In reality it is much more profitable if every hardware vendor makes their own console-like PC. Unfortunately Intel is treading water. Wildly flinging any idea into the world and see if anything sticks. I do not think they have the money to get to the extend part. But one can dream.

Some even had replaceable CPU & GPU!

Not exactly beginner friendly, but you needn’t solder all those fragile components.

In any sort of fair world the minute manufacturers started putting the fucking battery inside the machine behind a bunch of components, let alone soldered on, the execs would have been dragged onto the street and beaten for such blatantly anti consumer bullshit.
