[orange] Okay sure, we did massacre the economy and make ourselves look untrustworthy and unstable, but…
[zoom on orange grinning] We can now say slurs at work without facing consequences
[newspaper clipping] Corporate America embraces a new era of conservatism under Donald Trump. Bankers and financiers say that Trump’s victory has empowered those who felt they had to self-censor or change their language to avoid offending younger colleagues, women, minorities or disabled people. “I feel liberated,” said a top banker. “We can say [r-slur] and ‘pussy’ without the fear of getting cancelled . . . it’s a new dawn.”
[orange, celebrating] Worth it! I see this as an absolute win!
Imagine being so obscenely rich that your biggest problem is that you can’t say slurs.
You can have freedom of speech all you want.
None of that means consequences of speech, a luigi will be happy to fix your heart.
Funny how this probably doesn’t work in all directions. I probably couldn’t say openly that I don’t trust his work ethic because he voted for and supports Little Prince Shits-in-Pants.
When I was a kid there were many words and phrases that were commonplace in my vocabulary that may have been hurtful to others. One day, someone told me one of those words might be hurtful to some people, or maybe it was pointed out that some of my vocabulary made me sound ignorant, so I found more appropriate ways to express myself and my ideas.
Oh lol, yeah the slurs are only allowed one way. If you call your boss a cracker ass dick head then you will be looking for a new job.
This is fucking ridiculous. I spent my teen years on 4chan. I used far worse slurs than those amongst my peers when I was a young shithead.
Do you want to know how much trouble I have ever had curtailing my language at work? In customer facing jobs it took me a month or two to get used to not cursing casually. As far as slurs? I have always, even at my most reprehensible, understood that they are not acceptable to utter in public.
These are supposedly grown ass adults who have been in the workforce for many many years. If they have a problem cursing more than is generally acceptable, I can understand. If you have a problem with saying slurs or cusses targeting people, that is entirely a you problem. A problem of respect towards other human beings.
Oh good, maybe we can use these slurs to pay our bills.
🤦🏻♂️
