Wake me up when they remove the Ubishit launcher from all their games on Steam.

Man, the snark in that piece feels like a weird retro thing and I realize it’s because I haven’t perused traitional games media news coverage in a long time. I don’t know how I feel about that.

Anyway, this just seems good of Ubi in general, even if I’m way too platform agnostic to care about something being on Steam or not. I’ll say that I had to go check to notice I own all Watch Dogs games on Steam already, so the more vitriol I see towards these guys for their outlet choices specifically the less aware I am of how long they were supposedly an Epic exclusive.

Like, what games are not on Steam? How long was this happening for? Was it just Avatar and Star Wars or something?

Certain attitudes toward certain companies will guarantee upvotes, even if it doesn’t accurately reflect the actions the company has just taken. They’re just farming upvotes, clicks, ads, etc.

I’ve yet to find any way to “fix” the situation. People aren’t interested in being open-minded. They just want to push some endorphins and move on.

I really wish they would add steam cloud support to these games as well. I know that they have their Uplay cloud nonsense but it’s never worked on my steam deck

I refuse to buy their games because of Uplay crap. I just pirate their games as everyone should for Ubisoft trash

Big publishers realizing that gamers have no loyalty to corporate parasites who treat them like shit…

Steam respects the gamer at least…

After years of releasing its games exclusively on the Epic Store

I thought I bought Valhalla through UPlay or whatever you call it. When did that come out?

Edit: AC Valhalla was released on Nov 10, 2020. Furthermore, Wikipedia says

On PC, the game was an Epic Games Store-exclusive title until December 6, 2022, when it was released on Steam.

but I just checked and the only game I ever bought on Epic was Kena Bridge of Spirits.
