I have seen a lot of tesla vandalism online the last few days and I’m kind of on the fence about it.

I’ve seen several examples locally here in BC, Canada.

I think totally warranted at newly purchased teslas going forward. Also it serves as a deterrent for potential future buyers.

But vandalizing a car that is a few years old I think is lame. Those driversare already being punished enough by driving something around that’s worth less than scrap.

Writing on it in dirt or snow? Sure.

With a sticker that can be easily removed? Sure.

    Anything else? Probably not.

Just make sure you don’t do anything that might cause severe and permanent damage like spritzing a little water on it.

That’s somebody elses property. It’s literally vandalism.

One time someone wrote on the dirt in the window of my truck “jesus saved me” and it made me fucking livid lol.

the hypersuck swasticar is a death machine that should not be allowed on the road to begin with (and isn’t in relatively sane countries). vandalism is getting off too easy imo. the appropriate response is to total the car but that’s not practical. or maybe you can just spray some water on it and it explodes or something idk

I’m just gonna be blunt. And I mean exactly what this sounds like.

There is NOTHING negative you can do to a Nazi lover that could possibly be construed as immoral.

Illegal, sure (in this current farce of government). But every dead Nazi is good for the world. Bar none, no exclusions. I wanna see Nazi corpses everywhere. I wanna see clips of them suffering before their deaths. Comeuppance is such a delicious beverage. The tears of the wicked can wash anything down.

They can’t be reformed, and everything they do would be suspect for the rest of their lives. You can’t negotiate with them, either.

I’m just gonna stop here. I probably got on at least 3 watch lists for this comment.

TBH, you’re only really hurting the owner, and you don’t know their situation necessarily unless you’re in close contact with them all the time.

    Plus Teslas have security cameras.

    It’s generally a bad idea.

If you’re gonna do it, do it right. A brush with some heavily salted water, then paint your sign on it, then you know it’ll stay.

If you define “vandalism” to include “writing in dust” then yes, some types of “vandalism” are ok on any type of vehicle what so ever.

Sometimes people write “wash me” in the dust on someone’s window. Who cares.

Bullshit, it’s dust. Nothing has been defaced. That is absolutely ridiculous! Are you seriously arguing that the dust is part of the fucking car? Don’t be silly.

I’m not defending the action but just explaining to you that it literally falls under the definition of vandalism.

If someone wrote on your car with their finger you would probably feel upset and a little violated.

Also this doesn’t exactly apply to this vehicle as it’s made out of steel but if you press dirt into your car’s paint with your finger you will scratch the clearcoat. I feel like I shouldn’t need to explain this even but dirt is in fact, very small rocks.

Writing in dirt is just not vandalism.

You insisting otherwise makes it seem like you might not be asking this question in good faith.

I mean technically, if we are talking a painted vehicle, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that could cause minor scratching.

Dude, it’s a cybertruck. That drawing in the dust probably caused the brakes to fail or the headlights to short out.

If you want to get really technical, in this case your grubby fingers would make it prone to rust.

So because they didn’t bother with painting it it’s my fault it rusts when I touch it.

I don’t buy your arguments that tracing words in the dust on a car is vandalism/defacing.

Defacing is something permanent tracing words in dust is not permanent.

de·face /dəˈfās/ verb gerund or present participle: defacing spoil the surface or appearance of (something), for example by drawing or writing on it.

I dunno this isn’t really what I wanted the thread to be about.

Writing something in dust is fine and if you think otherwise you’re a nerd. Who gives a shit, just wipe it off.

Going beyond that, I wouldn’t. What, am I gonna target every car with a Trump sticker too? If you’re gonna fuck with cars you should target gas guzzlers, not EVs. I’ll absolutely judge someone for owning a cybertruck, but I’d rather let it break down on its own so they blame Musk instead of me.

target every car with a Trump sticker

Yes. Make them afraid to voice their political opinion.

“What are we gonna do? Spray paint every car with a Confederate flag?”

Yes. 00-buck if you got it.

Older Teslas- no, Cybertrucks - absolutely yes.

Everyone who bought a Cybertruck knew exactly the kind of person they were buying from and made that concious choice
