What, just because he’s betraying an ally for a hostile country actively trying to harm us?

The only consistant thing about conservatives over history is that they are almost always against good social progress, the ones of the past just had more sturdy spines

Being against progress is kinda in the name tho… but i guess they can also be considered progressive, except progressing in an exceptionally shitty way

    Well. That’s it then.

Doesn’t matter what the terrorists in charge say. Real America should double down on support for our friends in Ukraine.

Funding. Supplies. Volunteer work. Combat footage analysis. Supportive memes and propaganda. Offensive hacking of Russian assets for teh lulz. Whatever we can do.

How do we find the helpers here?

America should double down support for the Ukrainian regime that shot and killed unarmed pro-separatist protestors on film with some of those being shot at having their hands up with this occurring even before Russian war criminal Igor Girkin ignited everything (at-least according to himself)? A strange albeit sadly common take.

You’re right, governments have done bad things to people before, so we should just deliver a smaller sovereign nation of human beings over to expansionist Russia’s butchers.

Conveniently that’s suddenly something we should’ve done all along, because Krasnov and his owners say so. (I’m sure it has nothing to do with trying to make a play for raw minerals multinational corpos are hungry for.)

Surely Pooty will stop after butchering and pillaging just one neighbor. Just one country full of people, bro, then the world will finally know peace, bro! /s

This isn’t how it worked in history class. So yeah, we’re all for supporting a country’s right to defend itself from aggression, which will at least leave a chance ro sort out the rest later.

Russia does not have an ideology like Nazi Germany where they need “living space”. The only other countries I see Russia ever invading is the Baltic states due to them discriminating against Russians with Russians in Estonia for example not being given citizenship unless they were born there before 1940. This means an old grandma who has lived there for 80 years was not granted citizenship by her own government due to her ethnicity.

I personally don’t think an invasion into the Baltic States would be justified. But at the same time, it is a reminder that maybe you should not piss off a major power that borders you by massacring or stripping away the freedoms of said country’s ethnicity.

The US did halt lend lease shipments to the USSR in the middle of Stalingrad in order to support actions in Tunisia.

That’s a very different context and you know it. That’s resource scarcity and triage. What’s happening now is we’re switching teams to the bad guys.

Yes, I am quite aware. US cut off intelligence to Ukraine and are planning to end sanctions with Russia which is as if the Americans stop cooperation with the Soviets completely during WW2 and gave lend-lease to the Nazis instead.

I personally see Russian conflict with Ukraine to be more grey vs grey considering I have footage of Ukrainian troops mowing down pro-Russian protesters in post-Maidan Mariupol (not as bad as Russia’s Bucha atrocity I admit) but to each their own.

Like, ending sanctions and buying and selling things? Like selling them ammo?

That last part isn’t in the news - yet - but they’re definitely poised to Supply Things to Russia.
