I tried the windows binary to see how it works, and I’m pretty impressed. It imported my Garmin fit files no problem. The heatmap works great!
I’m not sure if I’ll continue to use it or not since it’s extra work. But I will keep an eye on the project to see what new features it adds. If they put in metrics like power output, then it may sway me to take advantage of the system.
That’s great! Idk if there’s a way to automatically sync the garmin with it, but I use Fitotracker, and app on my smartphone, and it works great! If you dont feel like selfhosting your own instance you can use mine, workouts.estebiu.com. But again, don’t trust strangers on the internet.
I’m sure I’ll be looking for self-hosted solutions for fitness tracking once my Garmin devices finally die, but until then, I guess I’ll use what I’ve paid for. On the upside, I am familiar with third-party bike computers that essentially spit out GPX files, so I’m already familiar with the whole process for when the time comes.
