If you want things to change, you can’t just gripe about the electoral college every 4 years at election time. Get your state to support the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Go to https://www.nationalpopularvote.com/ click on your state and send a message to your law makers. Tell them to introduce the bill and support it in your state.
It feels like a pipedream while conservatives control so much of the legislature.
It has bipartisan support. Every state doesn’t need to join the compact, just 270 electoral votes worth of states. It’s at 209 electoral votes right now with 17 states plus DC. 61 electoral votes is just a few more states. It can happen before 2028 if people care and push for it.
While good, national popular vote would only have changed the results of 5 out of the past 50 elections.
It doesn’t have to change the results of all of them. Just prevent a guy like the criminal in office from getting elected.
