Lemmy’s default sort is “Active”, which means that the most active threads will stay at the top of the frontpage, which can make the same few threads stay for ages. It does give the impression that lemmy is more active though.

I’m a fan of “Top six hour” it refreshes often enough to see intersting tidbits throughout the day but not so much that I’m checking every twenty minutes!
I do “top day” because its not healthy to check this ahit more than once per day.

Just tried that and scrolled through seen posts until it ended. I expected it to start off with hottest of the last 6 hours, but is it only the last 6 hours? I guess I don’t have enough communities
Yeah, it’s the top posts that were posted in the last six hours. Unless you have a pretty wide sub list it’s usually better if you do it for everything/all, eg. https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/?dataType=Post&listingType=All&sort=TopSixHour . Otherwise top 12 hour or top day is usually good
Thanks. I’ll take it as a jump off to diversify again. I stuck to joined communities because my feed was getting steamrolled by dumb, socially adverse, or majorly irrelevant communities. My original communities probably also died off, too.
Sometimes it’s been a while since I last checked the feed and I go for Top 12 hours
