It was working in a recent version but I no longer see the highlighting in v244&245. Tried toggling the setting on and back on but nada.

Hi, thanks for the feedback and this should now be fixed in v246. Cheers! (It may take some time to show up, I’m storing timestamps of when posts are viewed and it wasn’t being persisted between launches before).
