I thought I would save some time by asking my wife to help plate. I turned around and found the eggs on top of the sausage gravy. Lesson learned. Never ask for help. Be fully independent.

Why not just put things in bowls so everyone can assemble it how they’d like? No problem with pre-assembling, I just usually do the “everyone make theirs how they want”.

For biscuits and gravy, the gravy is traditionally served directly on the biscuits for plating. Also, I usually bring her dinner to her after plating and putting it on a tray. So I’m not in the habit of even having her in the kitchen while I cook. So build your own isn’t really a thing here.

That’s fair. I’ll plate things for my family as well when it seems like it’s needed. Didn’t realize this dish was one where it’s needed. I’ve only had biscuits and white gravy once, and it was a hotel continental (free) breakfast. Pretty delicious, but I’m positive it can’t compare to the proper dish. I don’t think it even had sausage in the gravy.

Also yes, I hate having people in the kitchen as I cook haha.

I’ll hope to have it proper some day. Thanks for your reply.
