Workers feared Jingye executives might sabotage the works, according to a person briefed on events.
A union source confirmed that police were called this morning at about 8am after Jingye executives tried to enter the Scunthorpe plant. The executives left shortly after.
The workers locked out the bosses. The police arrived and backed up the workers. Bosses went home. Fucking amazing.
Yet they can’t do this for the water companies
All they had to do was turn off the furnace, and it would have been far too expensive to switch it on again. A definitive simple action like that doesn’t exist for water companies.
Person A: “I wish we could have some oranges”.
You: “well we can’t, because strawberries are not in season right now”.
He was referring to why the government doesn’t want to nationalise the water companies - call the police and block the executives as in this story.
I think the point is that the water companies executives gaining access to the water companies doesn’t allow them to do any sabotaging that would dismantle critical infrastructure.
