    There are no direct trains from Germany to Spain anymore.

    It’s still good, but some stupid people at the EU (I like the EU, but they’re dead wrong on this one) “liberated” the rail market, and introduced cOmpEtItiOn and now the state rail operators can’t get direct subsidies anymore, and they won’t cooperate anymore
