Enrollment in the 287(g) program, which deputizes local police to do federal immigration enforcement, has exploded in recent weeks—but the administration has been surprisingly silent about it.
This was all in Yarvins butterfly revolution. Next is declare a state of emergency. God damn this shit
Aren’t 99% of local and state law enforcement Trump supporters?
One of the most depressing things about all of this, is the number of people ready and willing to carry out fascist, blatantly unconstitutional orders.
Well People going into Law Enforcement aren’t usually neither the brightest nor the empathetic ones
Not talking about just law enforcement, but also low level bureaucrats.
Middle Manager syndrome. There’s a lot of people out there who will happily do horrible, terrible things to their fellow humans so long as doing so allows them to exert a little bit of power.
Sending people to a foreign prison ain’t deportation, it’s internment
“kidnapping” might hit the best combo of accuracy and legibility
Not when done at a large scale.
I have been saying it since january but military recruitment ads on cruchyroll and the wb have way increased. I stream from both regularly and its very noticable from last year and seems to be higher today than it was at end of january. literally 2-4 of them in a crunchyroll 7 commercial block. both services lean young and poor (if your getting commercials)
7 commercial block
Is this some sort of subscription term I’m too piratical to understand?
more of a “don’t have a subscription term” although its not really a term used specifically for streaming but more for commercials. A commercial block is just the quantity of commercials during a commercial break. So crunch rolls blocks can be as small as 2 but I think I have seen one that is 8. 5,6,7 are pretty standard. 2 is their small one and im not sure I have ever seen 3 or 4 for whatever reason.
You need to get yourself an adblocker.
Ads don’t annoy me per se. I mean disturbing things like an uptick in military recruitment do but not the idea of ads. You do see some wierd stuff. Man there is this ad in spanish where kids ask the parents if they can stop for food and the parents are like. no, we eat at home. then in the end the family is gather at the table with utensils in hand and low and behold here comes the grub hub to eat at home. Its like hilariously sad.
“Quietly.”
