Rule of thumb when I can’t decide what to listen to, grab one of the first five Sabbath albums. Never fails!
This copy is pretty crappy, or my current turntable and speakers just can’t do it justice. Someday I should get the remaster, but for now I have a lot of affection for a pressing that is, after all, only a few years older than myself.
Sometimes the low quality is part of the nostalgia though, right? This album looks like it’s been well-loved, and I bet it’s made a lot of people happy.
Oh yeah, I’m not the first owner by far. This has been through a lot of hands, and that wear adds to its value in a way that a pristine copy wouldn’t have.
Same for the sound quality — sometimes you just need to crank the volume till the walls crack 😄
