Fine time to be oot fer a walk. Lambies are bouncing, blossom is springing forth, wild garlic is perfect for foraging. I saw a red squirrel yesterday in Aberdeenshire even
This forager has some good advice. Is in England so the season starts a bit earlier than ours. But the advice itself is still sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNMxd-5LpPw
So the stalks you use almost exactly like chives. Great in a tattie salad. The leaves you can turn into pesto, or add to your salad, or add to a pico de gallo, or wild garlic soup is a thing
Like all foraging: go a little deeper, don’t pick where the dog goes, and give a wash. And don’t confuse it with anything else, it will smell pungently of garlic
Sum in ma back gairden, hud it wi new tatties, mayo, chives (alsae frae ae gairden) an dusted wi paprika. Lamb steaks the main event wi mint sauce, fit a brsw combo. Ann corn-oan-the-cob frae senegal which wis rather tasteless, forced grown shite
A red one! They are gorgeous. Doubt if there’s any near me here sadly. I’ve heard that pine martens are actually good for red squirrel populations because red squirrels are much harder for them to catch than their invasive cousins.

How do you forage wild garlic?? What bit do you eat? How do you use it?? I love the smell when I go walking at my dad’s bit!

Sounds delicious (minus the corn on the cob).
