I read he recently assigned (annointed/annnounced) a bunch of new Cardinals - mostly from emerging nations across Africa and Oceania. Also ensuring that 80%+ of the conclave will be cardinals that he approves of. That bodes well at least. Though having grown up around the church I don’t hold a lot of hope in those guys.
