On May 5th, 1818, Karl Marx, hero of the international proletatiat, was born. His revolution of Socialist theory reverberates throughout the world carries on to this day, in increasing magnitude. Every passing day, he is vindicated. His analysis of Capitalism, development of the theory of Scientific Socialism, and advancements on dialectics to become Dialectical Materialism, have all played a key role in the past century, and have remained ever-more relevant throughout.

He didn’t always rock his famous beard, when he was younger he was clean shaven!

Some significant works:

Economic & Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844

The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte

The Civil War in France

Wage Labor & Capital

Wages, Price, and Profit

Critique of the Gotha Programme

Manifesto of the Communist Party (along with Engels)

The Poverty of Philosophy

And, of course, Capital Vol I-III

Interested in Marxism-Leninism, but don’t know where to start? Check out my “Read Theory, Darn it!” introductory reading list!

The anarchist library, a clear unbiased source of information.

Your implication that humans are inherently bad, cruel, competing for resources, etc. is a vestige of theory from Thomas Hobbes

Of course, my opinion is influenced by a great man I’ve never heard of. Clearly all my opinions are an amalgamation of random theories from people I’ve never heard of. Yours are truly original and unbiased.

the observed behavior of a vast amount of animal and insect species, wherein individuals aid one another out of no apparent immediate benefit to themselves

Ah yes, all behaviour has visible effects. How could I forget that rape, murder, torture, bullying, and other external occurrences have no internal impact on a biological machine. If there are no visible effects, one must conclude that there are no effects. That’s how it works. Insects and other animals express happiness, satisfaction, and pleasure the same way humans do. That is known.

But the idea that capitalist competition, social darwinism, humans reveling in their own private benefit, greed, and cruelty, is natural, is both played out and nonsensical.

So say the knower of all, the great divine, the one who came before and will continue to be, so say he “what is natural or not is up to me!”. Oh great one, what other wisdom may you bestow upon us time-bound folk? May you grant us a quant of knowledge, where doth we emerge and where doth we converge, Cottone Eagan of Yore?

What a dick-ass comment. I’m not trying to dunk on you dude. If you don’t wanna read more about the thing you yourself are professing (humans inherently bad), where that idea got popularized, and people who have refuted it throughout history, you don’t have to. But I find it interesting and just wanted to give you a reading suggestion. Christ.
