Best case, it’s a contractor studio where girls with little to no money/access to the Internet and decent hardware can make a bit of money. I’m sure there are worse cases and would rather not think about how people twist that model into slavery.

Yup, for sure that happens. Esp in S America. But thankfully, it’s pretty easy to spot.
It’s also pretty easy to spot the folks who are totally independent, working out of their own homes, with their own gear.
