I mean if I had the resources to I would be long gone, jumping ship to an entirely new country is incredibly expensive and poses a lot of challenges if you don’t have an in. If you’re just some basic bitch civilian with no super special in-demand skills the fuck are you supposed to do.

Quite a few countries are fine if your income is a WFH job even if the company is US based. As long as that income is at or above whatever level they set you’re generally fine on that front even if you’re not like a researcher or something.
So, if you can snag a stable WFH job with decent enough income for your target country, that is also cool with you being in another country (it’s more common than you might think) that could be your way out
Oh really? I wouldn’t have guessed that. Do you have some examples?
There is a paywall.
Those that have read the article, what countries are the researchers moving to?
Everyone, where would you move to?
I’m moving to Sweden. They have been investing a lot into game dev work which is what I want to be doing so I’m going to get my degree there
lol, your question should be, “what country will accept your application”
Answer: Canada
Do you know how hard it is to get residency in Canada?
Of you have $2m Quebec will sell you one.
Is it sell, or let them hold?
I ask as some places will let a person buy a $500K house and be allowed in. (One can sell the house when they leave.)
Best I can do is tree fiddy.
They don’t just take anyone. You have to qualify. And 90% of Americans DONT. So, have a backup plan.
I updated the post with an archive link, but it’s a video article, so the good parts aren’t in text
But, funnily enough, I was able to click the Play icon on the video even with the paywall lmao
