On one hand, the US military is terrible and anything that causes people to not go to it is good.

On the other hand, most people who join the military join out of desperation due to poverty and wanting better opportunities, so I kinda empathize with them without approving of their actions.

Basically, I would say to this guy “You’re not wrong, you’re just an asshole.”
