This is real. It’s La Grange KY and the CSX LCL subdivision from Louisville to Cincinnati runs directly through the city. There is a highway built along the same corridor paralleling the track, and for only 3 blocks in downtown La Grange, it runs directly down the middle of main street.
Street running is a thing in some places. It’s mainly historical. It’s much less of a thing nowadays because rail is no longer used for local deliveries, and it’s generally better to run in separated corridors. The trains can only go through the street run at 10 MPH.
Heavy freight rail infrastructure is neither a good way to have pleasant spaces for people, or efficient rail transport. Trams are good for street running, enormous freight trans, not so much.
it begins
This is beautiful.
Except for the flags, yeah. Kind of highlights the fantasy element, the ‘you don’t get to have this ever’.

But then how do they clear the streets to make pedestrians safe?
I’m just reporting the track speed through the area. But yeah, that’s how they go very slowly.
There are so many American flags in this picture, what the hell 😂
Probably close to a holiday.
