Monopoly is such a boring game with bad mechanics. It is what people play if they do not know better and i know back then we had not many alternatives.
But if you play it nowadays you are missing out on some amazing boardgames compared to that. Settlers of Catan and Uno are very outdated aswell IMHO.

Monopoly is Designed to show how flawed capitalism is, it was Never Designed as a real game. But capitalism won, peaps liked it and it generated income…
And everyone plays it wrong anyway. People employ socialist ideals to make the game “fair”. Whether it’s doubling the money by landing on GO, collecting fines on free parking, going around the board once before buying, no auctions etc.
A true game of Monopoly should only last a couple of hours.
😂 there are multiple play styles: America style: no social add on rules.
EU style: a lot of those social rules, all written down in very big book so that no one know All the rules
China style: one player manages the bank, decides who can buy what and who earns how much
! I am joking ! This is satire ! Perfect systems do not exist !

All the railroads is not even that good
The RoI is pretty good + events force you on them. Getting 2xInvestment rent on 4 tiles is pretty good.
