I left Windows for ideological reasons - moral opposition to nonfree software, wanting to be free of corporate surveillance, and not wanting to support the American techno-plutocracy. But now when I try to convert people from Windows, I just say “the UX sucks”.

I have to use Windows 11 for my day job. It is so much slower, context menus are difficult to navigate, everything defaults to being saved on OneDrive, and honestly, I just think it’s ugly.

My linux usage is climbing as I get some of the final things setup, still can’t get my g13 setup as I can’t get make or cmake to work on the only 2 options for drivers. Several vr games work nearly flawlessly, except for the win api vid player that just shows the colour palate and a small screen with snow in place of videos (apparently a ue4 thing), others are still not smooth enough for streaming. Flat games… if I don’t see my task bar (or my g13 screen) I forget which OS I am using
