I’ve looked online but I guess I failed my search checks, because I didn’t find anything big in NYC.

But also like others have said, we need to do more than just march. We need to be disruptive. No more labor until every Republican resigns. That kind of thing.

Yeah, that last protest – the biggest ever in the US wasn’t it? – did so much.

Protesting is what got you here. And they want you to keep protesting uselessly while they continue to take apart America.

Depends on where you think this is all going: Reaganomics or Genocide.

If it is Genocide you shouldn’t be discussing this, and should be forming resistance cells.

If you think it’s Reagonomics, visible protests can help form mutual aid networks and a collective action front that increases solidarity and save lives.

Two different approaches depending on where you think things are heading.

50501 needs to start getting people organized. I went to No King’s Day; it was great, really, genuinely great, except that there was absolutely zero organizing to try and get people to push towards achievable goals. It was literally just “hey, let’s all stand around with signs, that’ll show Donald”. If we want to make a difference, we need to get organized so we can start directing people and their resources and energy towards attainable goals and start demonstrating that we can get shit done.

The perfect is the enemy of the good. They’re building habits, getting the numbers up. Practicing.

I agree with all of this.

        Not only protests but strikes.

        Nationwide. Every industry.

No idea how to make that happen, though.

The leaders of these 50501 events need to start telling people to general strike.

Either that or stop hogging the attention and let a real movement take over that isn’t controlled by establishment dems

            Lol there’s your answer

Establishment-supported protests are ineffectual and not producing the desired results? Huh…

Yes, generally these one day protests don’t really accomplish anything. You need protests that don’t end at dinner time, but go on until there is change. In other words: a revolution. But I understand this is not easy to organize in a gigantic country like the US.

People should realize a lot of the EXTREMELY LARGE 1-3 day protests, should really just be a means of networking and actually creating more dedicated hardened resistance groups.

That’s exactly what you need to do! What others are saying is true, it needs to be a sustained movement and not just stop at 4pm. Thankfully there were organizing tents at the protests in Denver but I was in my hometown, in West Virginia, for the No Kings protest and there was a good turnout just not the organizing.

These protests are great places to meet like minded individuals and do your own organizing if not one else will. Change will not come with once a month protests, change will come from a large movement of organized individuals. You’re the one here who is closest with the people in your area, start talking to them and making strong connections.

My impression is that 50501 aren’t actually organizing anything, but just providing a one-stop forum for actual, local groups to advertise their events. And maybe a little bit of, “hey, let’s all do something on [this] day.” If you’re not already in a local activist community, it can be hard to find them.

Point being: if you can step up, do step up, but please don’t organize a Fyre Festival.

Good luck. I guess it will take people like you to do it, because your political “leaders” aren’t doing shit.
