    Many moons ago, I heard this idea about Russia, and why they had so many attractive women.

    It was posited that due to their substantial wartime losses from WW2, there were far more women than men in the populace, so any dude could snag a hottie. And then they had progeny that also grew up to be hotties, creating a higher density of hot people.

    I don’t know if this is real, but I think it’s interesting to think about.

    Putin is confidently planning on the Trump Clownshow administration pulling US support, which will be very bad for Ukraine and later for Europe.

      Fwiw, on the scale of likelihood of Trump pulling support from Ukraine, it went from from “likely” to “possible but unsure”. Zelensky had been a master in entertaining Donald Trump and stoking his ego to not stop the aid to Ukraine completely. I mean, of the many news of Trump withdrawing support to many countries, the initial rumour of withdrawing aid to Ukraine has been unequivocally quashed by White House, which is a rare exemption under the current Trump 2.0.

      Tbh, Zelenskyy, right up to the very last moment, believed that Russia wouldn’t really do it. The CIA was fucking begging him to take it serious (even broken clocks, I guess).

      Poland, OTOH, seems to have a raging hate boner for Russia, and wakes up wondering if today is the day it gets to drag Russia to Hell with it. I also don’t think Ukraine will ever completely chill, it’ll probably remain an ulcer for the rest of Putin’s life. I don’t think an expansionist Russia gets much further than Poland.
