Well, I was saying that it is already obvious, so why is there a huge headline about what Elon’s estranged kid said it was? If it was actually in question and needed confirmation, a person who would say whatever is worse by default wouldn’t be the one to clear things up… I feel like my previous post expressed that but I could have spelled it out a bit more.

did they edit their comment? or is it wrong to call someone who prefers she/her by they/them? i feel like they/them is the neutral version so if you prefer either he/him or she/her then they/them also applies, no? sorry if i’m being ignorant here.
edit: i guess people do distinguish they/them as a way to identify non-binary people, and so using they/them on a person who specifically requests she/her can be offensive if you have been informed that they have a preference. but i don’t see how using they/them to describe a person you don’t know anything about other than that they are transgender is offensive when there are so many possibilities for preferences. as a cis man i don’t feel offended being refered to as they/them and i think it would only be respectful to assume that someone who transitions ftm would also be comfortable with that, unless otherwise stated. i’m not a woman so i obviously can’t say for certain but i’d imagine i would also be okay with she/them, and therefore a mtf transgender would also be okay by default. ‘by default’ in this case meaning the circumstance in which you haven’t been explicitly informed of their preferences. i guess that’s just my respect compass- which very well might be wrong from some people’s point of view but i think it’s obvious that it doesn’t come from a negative place, which is why i don’t think the original comment in necessarily trying to disrespect her.

I think “they” is perfectly fine if the preferred pronouns are actually undisclosed (or are the persons preferred pronouns, obviously).
But using “they” like three times, in response to a post where the proper pronouns were used? And with an oppositional tone? It lays it all pretty clear that the grandparent was intentionally saying “they” as a sophomoric attempt to express their disrespect.

If he’s autistic, that can be dangerous when mixed with narcissism. There’s research showing a link between it and mass shootings (practical example here. Possibly due to some autistic people thinking in polarised extremes, having poor social skills and lacking empathy.
At least provide some scientific data to back up any claim like this. Posting this is an extremely harmful claim to make regardless, but to do so with a “practical example” is not only incredibly offensive it has the potential to be profoundly harmful. Please consider providing real data for your claims or editing your post entirely.
That’s an exceptionally dangerous claim to make; it’s going to cause people to further alienate people that are on the autism spectrum. When you look at the report that the US Secret Service released on mass shootings (I’d have to find it; I’ve got a copy saved somewhere), autism spectrum disorder is not listed as a factor, while things like divorced parents is.
Perhaps you missed the part that said, “[Forensic psychiatrist Dr Iain Kooyman] found Prosper had an ‘extreme lack’ of empathy and remorse - something that could not be explained by ASD alone.”
And, BTW, people on the autism spectrum lack effective empathy, not empathy. That means that a person on the spectrum has a reduced ability to understand what a person is experiencing or feeling, not that they don’t feel empathy when they do know.
I think it’s dangerous because of the presentation, and singling out ASD.
There’s lots of otherwise harmless things can become danger multipliers.
Being sleepy is harmless. Driving a car is very slightly dangerous. Being sleepy while driving a car is incredibly dangerous.
Being on the spectrum isn’t dangerous at all. Radicalized people can be slightly dangerous. Sociopaths can be fairly dangerous. Gun ownership can be slightly dangerous. Radicalized sociopaths with guns on the spectrum are worth worrying about.
But the solution isn’t singling out the ASD, but other factors that can be more effectively controlled.

He literally just said “empathy is weakness” the other day, I think it’s pretty clear he’s got some serious personality disorder. Narcissism and sociopathy both seem to fit him pretty well but I’m just a blue-collar guy.

When even Neo Nazis are agreeing that it’s a Nazi salute, and side by side footage shows Elon doing the salute with even more force than Hitler himself did, pretending that it isn’t is not a good look and is gaslighting. I’ve seen someone claim that it couldn’t have been a Nazi salute because “half of America” and the ADL said it wasn’t, which just makes this quote more relevant:

The ADL saying it wasn’t makes me believe it was even harder, I mean literally they’re the same organization that said cartoon frogs, drinking milk, and McDonalds Mascots were all racist dogwhistles and that telling Israel not to kill Arabic Children is basically denying the Holocaust.

Elon and Trump’s actions are indeed more nationalist, but we should not confuse it with nazism, that had nationalism as one of its traits but was much more than that. The genocidal part is what makes them evil, not the nationalism part.
