The best thing he could do is be just as visible as an ex-president as he was while he was president…

Meaning the most I want to hear from that asshat is a few mumbled sentences between exiting a building and entering a vehicle, but I’d prefer to just never hear from him again.

Neoliberals have poisoned the party to the point that we’d all be better off if we never heard a squeak from them again

Yes I heard he was Satan, and that’s the sole reason people voted for rampant fascism by a kleptocrat. All his fault.

Man he was such a good president, he did such great things that are helpful to the average american, like:

        … … … …

Well he’s not Trump so that’s good enough for all the deaths from COVID, social murder, Mexican cages, Gaza, the trans healthcare crisis, abortion being made illegal, not arresting Trump so he’s back in office…

Trump is so awful the bar is in hell, walking on the bottom of the ocean floor is better but not great.

It physically hurts me to think about the number of times here, on this platform, people tried to gaslight us on this.

      First it never happened.

Then, when we showed them the interview where he said it, we were told it was just “misconstruing” what Biden said.

Then, it wasn’t a campaign promise.

Then, when in 2024 when Biden confirmed it was a campaign promise, it didn’t matter, because “beating Trump” was too important; but if “beating Trump” was so important, then why were they insisting on sticking with Biden?

      I just. Sometimes I can’t even.

That didn’t happen. And if it did, it wasn’t that bad. And if it was, that’s not a big deal. And if it is, that’s not my fault. And if it was, I didn’t mean it. And if I did, you deserved it.

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. His heart sank as he thought of the enormous power arrayed against him, the ease with which any Party intellectual would overthrow him in debate, the subtle arguments which he would not be able to understand, much less answer. And yet he was in the right! They were wrong and he was right.

It sucks that the Democrats are the Republican party of 2012.

ITT thread - lots of folks downvoting the folks rightly condemning Biden, but strangely no one showing up to debate them. 🤔

What I would give for some actual leftists who are tough.

We need a younger bernie who is more aggressive. Shut the fuck up about woke and LGBT stuff. Speak only about how billionaires and corporations and wall street are exploiting the poor and working class.

Tax the billionaires. Support the Working class. Accountability for the rich. No more of this laws are only for the poor nonsense.

Free Healthcare. Free college/university. Free meals for kids in schools. Fund our fucking public schools. Make the rich pay for it or they can get the fuck out.

So win by throwing the rights of the queer community and minorities to the dogs?

I understand your frustration here. You and the minority communities do matter! With that said, the only way for you to have recognition and equality is to overthrow those in power. Those in power use you and other minorities as sock puppets pandering to wedge issues. While wedge issues are important to you and I, they are meaningless to those that use them to divided us.

If you let them keep using you as their wedge issue you can expect nothing but quarter measures and lip service in return. They need you to be that wedge issue to continue their robbery. You are being used, and as long as your useful nothing will materially change for you. You will be pulled left to right with every administration shift, never getting anything you need and deserve.

What matters to those in power is money. That’s it. Right and left alike. Nothing else! Not you or any minority or what you/they/I care about will change while these kinds of people are in power.

I’m not saying to put your priorities on the back burner. I’m saying we have to come together to burn the fascists down to get what we want together. Money out of politics is the only avenue for any change. That might have to be the only priority for a moment til we have a functioning government that has the power to actually change all our lives for the better.

I knew you people would disagree but I don’t care.

Inherently, leftists support protections for minorities. It’s part of being decent.

The problem is the conservative propaganda noise machine has amplified the anti-immigrant, woke and LGBT stuff as a distraction from the fact that billionaires are hoarding and stealing your wealth. And they’re gaining power to keep it this way.

The immigrant and LGBT stuff just angers bigots, gets them energized to vote against their own interests. Republicans are winning, bigly, not sure you’ve noticed.

It’s working because of people like you who can’t navigate this very successful propaganda.

Seems to me you are proposing that we cater to the bigots.

It’s working because of people like you who can’t navigate this very successful propaganda.

Yeah that’s a lot of words to tell me my empathy for people not like me is a problem.

        Then we will lose.

The immigrant and LGBT stuff just gets bigots more energized to vote and fight. That is their tactic and they’re winning.

The conservatives are gaining power and enacting policies to entrench power. Destruction of education means less educated, therefore more ignorance and bigotry. Easy to manipulate.

Progressives need to win first, get power, then enact policy changes. Protections and support for minorities only comes when we have the power to enact such policies.

Keep amplifying the LGBT and immigrant stuff, bigots will keep voting for the cons. They’re winning.

Maybe, if we amplify how they’re being ripped off and manipulated by billionaires, we might gain some non-zero support.

The headline is disingenuously framed. He isn’t saying he’s gearing up for a presidential bid. He’s saying he’ll throw his weight in to build up support for the party. Idk that that’ll do any good, but it isn’t a bad thing for him to do necessarily.

He’s an established guy who a lot of moderates and libs have historically liked. Plus, I guarantee he knows a lot of big money donors who he might be able to convince to put their money toward a more progressive candidate - that could be useful if he was willing to support a more progressive direction & agenda. Now will he do that or just insist on more of the same bullshit that ran the party into the ground…? Seems like he might not exactly have his finger on the dying pulse of american democracy, so to speak

Biden should have deported Trump to El Salvador when he had the chance. Now any one of us could be sent there. I got my Anarchy tshirt out and I’m not afraid to use it.

Biden had his chance and squandered it by failing to build any trust with the voting public. We need a completely new generation of leadership and that includes house and senate leadership.
