Hi everyone,
I am the indie developer behind SoraSNS (a Fediverse and Bluesky client featured by Tech Crunch twice).
I just started working on a modern and futuristic styled Lemmy client. It will have a modern UI and equal features as the blue alien app.
The image I attached is obviously the build 0. The target release date is around the first week of May.
If you are interested, please subscribe to this community to receive updates and TestFlight: https://lemmy.world/c/remy
My other apps: SoraSNS for Mastodon Misskey Bluesky, with local ML powered For You timeline (if you’d like to see what apps I designed look like): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sorasns-for-mastodon-bluesky/id6450969760
Thank you in advance!
three suggestions:
fyi, since your post links to
https://lemmy.world/c/remy
andhttps://lemmy.zip/c/remy
icymi the preferred way to link to communities (so that everyone can access them via their own home instance) is like this:!remy@lemmy.zip
. When someone types that in the lemmy web interface, it will auto-complete and expand it into link markup like[[email protected]](https://lemmy.zip/c/remy)
, but when that markup is rendered it will actually become a link to access the community via the reader’s home instance. For instance, for me that link will actually go to https://lemmy.ml/c/[email protected] where i can interact with the community whereas https://lemmy.zip/c/remy will take me to the lemmy.zip website where i do not have an account. Please ensure that your client can both generate and follow community links like this! (as well as user links to lemmy and other activitypub things; user links work the same except they’re prefixed with@
instead of!
.)you don’t need multiple communities for your app; users from .world can post on .zip and vice-versa (and it is easy for them to if you link to the community the way described above).
will you ever consider open sourcing it? :)
Oh wow thank you for the detailed information! Going to update the post now.
Neat!
Thank you ✨
You’ve been dodging the open source question repeatedly because IMO you’re here to make money off of our naivety.
The fediverse happily funds devs that want to help build the community. Here’s a proper fediverse style community: https://github.com/aeharding/voyager
Notice how many contributors there are and the licensing?
