Elbows up Canada! 🦫
Next they should take back the Nordiques
Keep up the good work. Every dollar sent here is a dollar that will work against you.
and hopefully florida will stop recieving canadian tourists too.
Good, hope more countries do the same.
I hope to read more about American companies crying capitalistic tears
I’m hoping with enough pain, there will be meaningful change.
More bigger tariffs! That will solve the problem
One BILLION percent!
*Dr Evil laugh *
Americans are stupid and proudly ignorant. I say this as an American who wishes it would change.
Buy Canadian is best, but anything will do if it isn’t American.
My order of operations is Canadian -> European -> Anywhere else on the planet -> Decide if I actually need the thing or not -> Chinese -> American.
As an American mine is Europe/Canada > the rest of the developed world OR blue states > Mexico > other countries > red states. It’s surprisingly easy to avoid food from red states. For tech/online services I prefer European over everywhere else.
Cripple that wretched country to the death.
Please try to have just a little bit of compassion for us. We’re not all like this
Not even a voting majority. Look up drop off votes. They stole the election. If your country uses electronic voting machines stop by any means necessary.
I’m an American myself. I want the country to die, so another may take its place. If the country doesn’t fall, the country will continue to slowly choke out everyone underneath it instead, with worse impact over time than the country outright collapsing.
I only hold a grudge against the people who caused these problems in the first place. It’s my goal to support everyone I personally can.
No, but our government and its corporate handlers are, and money is all they understand. They need to be hurt and we are unavoidable collateral damage.
Fair enough. I’ll strap in.
What a great movie. I will see it again soon…but not yet
Starve the greedy parasites, all of them.
🙂 keep up the good work. As an American, I’m boycotting what I can but most our shit is just made in China anyway
Yup, been avoiding american products as much as I can at the grocery store. Fruits and veggies that can’t be grown in Canada I will get from Mexico or anywhere else in the world except the US.
And not just about the attacks and threats. With the current US administration gutting regulations, there will be more risks of getting sick from eating contaminated food products.
It’s going to be great once every American is jobless and has all the free time to pursue hobbies involving CEOs, and the orange and rodent cancers in the Federal government. Think of all the possibilities!
Great for trump. He can just declare whatever crisis to do even more stupid things and grab more absolute power.
As an American, I hope the pain that these companies experience translates to strong and direct pressure on our politicians to grow a fucking spine against the dictator.
The response, so far, seems to be licking boots, unfortunately.
Wait until their quarterly earnings come in
Pfft, just watch, it will be an excuse to fire people in droves/cut wages while executives either get raises for “bold” responses or golden parachutes. Day traders will adore the volatility at the expense of retirement funds. Under duress, companies will merge like crazy since the only barrier now seems to be complying with government ethos. Reduced capital gains will juice the market. The masses will shoulder tariffs.
Saw it in my company yesterday. Outsource an entire department that seemed like the last place you would outsource.
Everybody here in the US keeps telling me that I’m wrong when I say this stuff will destroy our economy.
I sincerely hope the rest of the world proves them wrong.
The thing about seeing things coming and having that insight be rejected by people is that they will really get angry if you say I don’t you so. In fact they will try to make you not convincing them being the real problem.
I toad a so
It’s not rocket appliances
Worst case Ontario.
That’s a cute fucking kitty
I mean look at the stock market, customer sentiment, etc. Everything is pointing down and we haven’t started to see the unemployment that’s going to be brought on from all the government layoffs and attempts to rescind grants/contracts.
I think the next jobs report is going to be painful and we won’t see anything positive economically for a while after that.
I expect the Trump government will prioritize cuts that make it difficult to get accurate data about the effects of the cuts.
This is the entire point of the deferred resignation program being offered to Federal workers. It keeps people from being able to claim unemployment and pushes the true jobless numbers out into the next fiscal year (October) at the earliest. Now, why do you think they don’t want the real pain point for the American people to be until after they’ve raised the debt ceiling and cut taxes on billionaires?
“Due to large drops in revenue we’re forced to layoff workers.” Laid off MAGA voters, “But that wasn’t what was supposed to happen!”
“Why would Joe Biden do this?”
Nah, they are saying short term pain for long term gain. What exactly they are going to gain? Who the hell knows
It’s a brilliant piece of stupid propaganda. If the next democratic president tries to bring the country out of depression by undoing these dumb policies, the MAGA folks will claim that they nearly had solved the problem but that the awful democrats stopped it at the last minute before the prosperity would kick in.
“short term” = term in office
Long term = next dem president inherits a recession and gets blamed for it
If there IS a next dem president.
Typical cycle. Republican cuts taxes, economy stagnates, gov goes to hell. Democrat has to get more revenue, may need to raise taxes to fix damage, economy picks up. Republicans point at Dem and say he raised taxes and voters get upset. Repeat.
Meanwhile: Canadian manufactutors pulling their hair out while reviewing their books “what are we going to do with all these profits?”
Same thing happening with local soda and fast food joints in Denmark. Love to see it!
