This is it. When they forced us back into the office, it was less about afternoon naps and avoiding traffic. It was more about being able to see my dr that closes at 4pm or taking my elderly parents to their appointments. Cooking dinners to avoid takeout and getting ‘me’ time between zoom calls. They took that away from us. Now it’s 9-5 and not a minute more.
You can be unpopular and still be democratically elected. That’s so awful. Gotta fix voter apathy.
I was happy with my Ontario Carbon Rebate cheques. The conservatives really had their way in the media, re-dubbing it “carbon tax” when it was actually a very good program with money back from. I hate how sports reporters have more tenacity than those covering politics.
Cantonese Chow Mein Chicken with Black Bean Sauce Sweet n Sour Chicken Balls
Occasionally shrimp fried rice or beef & broccoli
Oh and their fried chicken wings! Yummm
Yeah what’s up with these NDP / Jagmeet Singh posts on here lately? It’s a two horse race. Jag needs to back off and stop splitting the left vote else Canada will suffer from a Conservative majority.
LOL that’s me after my wife and kid shower. Luke warm dribble and I’m a bald guy so I don’t have to fuss with washing hair and stuff. My showers are quick.
Is 40gal-50gal normal for a home? Previous owners were an elderly couple. I’m sure it suited them well. But with our family of 3 with laundry and occasional dishwasher running, it seems like it’s just slightly not enough. Especially if we’re all trying to get ready for an event or have family staying with us.
Maybe I just need to get it serviced… Thanks!
Really? A home water heater doesn’t do 3 showers back to back to back? For the record that’s just a stock photo. We actually have a 50Gal. I just feel like when I was a kid growing up at my parents house, our heater could easily handle 7-8 showers in a row when we had relatives staying with us. Thanks for the reply!
If Trump was elected in the 80s, he wouldn’t be alive long enough to change the name plate of the oval office desk. We’re living through such a wild time in history.
Rookie numbers. 80 cars is nothing to a billionaire.
I’ve noticed ‘the algorithm’ pushing Russian content through Instagram and Facebook reels. Seemingly unrelated to what I usually browse.
Ford is getting high on his brother’s crack stash again. He pulls this ‘for the people’ act to gain public support. Then once he’s sitting pretty he’ll start doing the bidding for his wealthy friends for kickbacks.
Don’t believe the hype. Ford killed millions of people during Covid. He slashed healthcare and public education and environmental protections while his friends got richer
The problem is Canada needs America to be strong. We are stronger together. So the idea of “taking down America” isn’t smart.
The entire world benefits from a strong America.
What it doesn’t benefit from is a wannabe dictator sociopath rapist who doesn’t play by international rules.
As a driver, I used to be a bike lane hater. But then I moved to the suburbs. They benefit both the driver and the cyclist. They keep everyone safe and help traffic move along.
The worst is when a bus or large truck has to suddenly switch lanes to avoid a cyclist sharing the road. That greatly slows down traffic and creates an unsafe environment.
We don’t get many cyclists out here but we have bike lanes now and I think that’s best for everyone except Doug Ford and his cronies 🙃
You can’t rationalize with crazy. You gotta beat crazy with crazy.
The question was “What type of stuff are you buying off Aliexpress?”
I started responding with “toys, cleaning supplies, phone cases, etc.” And then I noticed I was responding to a post on ** [email protected]**
So I felt like my response wouldn’t be as helpful or would be off-topic because I was responding on the programming.dev instance.
Right? That makes sense right? LOL
I start to respond to a post or comment that I see on NEW. I finish and right before I hit post, I notice the instance/server is completely unrelated to my response and I deleted my post :) - It’s an added nuance to Lemmy that takes some getting used to.
You can still browse and your comments still remain up. But you can no longer post or comment further. I’ll still get upvotes / replies to old comments. I just can’t respond
Half-serious… but I don’t understand how speeding is a problem in the GTA.
Every time I head out, I’m stuck in traffic because of road construction, condo construction, rush hour congestion or just bad drivers.
I’d love to have enough space to actually do the speed limit one day.
