See this is the problem right here. 1/3 of Americans are deplorable, always have been, back to the founding fathers. And it only took 28% to elect Trump/Elon/Vance. How can the world ever trust the US political system again? It’s been hacked by Citizens United, and at this point has been completely corrupted by the billionaires. “free speech”, as your quotation marks imply, does not really exist outside of theory. In reality, free speech is a set of laws governing hate speech or other dangerous speech.
