You can afford a lawn?
You can afford a lawn?
That wouldn’t be in line with “spreading” democracy, but could still easily be part of a democratic country lashing out.
Nope, just mildly perturbed. *You
Yeah and those would be a lot of the less helpful ritualism described.
It may get a new name when the actual medical use is determined and demonstrated but for now it’s still acupuncture.
There’s a lot of terrible things that shouldn’t happen in real medicine (like pretending different races have different pain tolerances, or over prescription of medicines like opioids or even antibiotics) but we don’t blame the technique or medicine in those instances so much as we blame the individual doctors doing that shit and the groups that perpetuate it.
Would I go get acupuncture treatment now?
Maybe if I had certain assurances like clean needle use and the use is limited to areas like joints but even then probably not until I see better evidence of cause and effect for the treatment. I just keep an open mind to avoid what could be inherent biases that would discount the idea in it’s entirety instead of trying to understand why there are some successes.
Kinda like how I’m not going to go eat a bunch of herbs from traditional Chinese medicine but would be interested in understanding how the components of those herbs affect the body to see if there is something that can be pulled and enhanced to modern medical treatment.
Acupuncture is a bit of a different animal though, there’s been some research coming out that it triggers a different layer (connective tissue iirc) in ways that we don’t really understand but seem to promote beneficial responses through triggering various receptors and nerve responses. I would still group it closer to alt med but it’s one of the ones I think might have a grain of usefulness underlying a bunch of less helpful ritualism.
I don’t understand why people think they can fuck with other people without provoking an unpleasant reaction. They’re basing it on one side behaving with civility in response to abuse, and that’s just fucking stupid. So yeah, burn the trolls.
I still hold by the ancient family tradition of burning trolls. Push buttons at your own peril.
Because some people want to jump straight into bbq without experience and have a bunch of money to compensate for knowledge about timing and when to test temps and what smells you’re waiting for.
Also, more precise temperature control for the cook who wants to try out other methods for elevating their bbq game.
I’m going to need a source for those claims.
I didn’t even take it as satire on that, I thought it was just a weeb version of plane waifus and while I don’t understand it I also am not threatened by accepting it may be a reality for some people. If someone wants to identify as an anthropomorphic attack helicopter because they want a helicopter waifu… I don’t understand but I don’t have to to chuckle a bit and move on with my life. I don’t know if that is a healthy view (mine) but it doesn’t make me think of them as less human anymore that someone who likes pineapple on pizza. Sorry for the ramble, let me know if I’m off or missing something.
Seems like they either deleted their account or something squirrelly is going on since I can’t pull them up.
Depends on where you live. California, Texas? Yeah close to nothing in comparison with someone from Wisconsin. For some reason that I keep getting told isn’t political favoritism.
Well shit, you might just get the whole south riled up about cyber security now.
Are there no late penalties? Seems a little unfair that someone can have their life ruined with less than a thousand in collections but a politician can just chill with no repercussions for at least a year.
Reading through that list wondering how much damage I did to myself and chuckling at mountain thunder. Also, super lucky it looks like none of the citrus shit I used to drink is on there.
Oh I’m well aware of the capabilities of a bb gun. As were the manufacturers and they led with gun safety and responsibility in their own ad to prove the kid was ready for gun ownership. You don’t see that these days. Hell probably not the last two decades at least. This just helps describe a decline in gun owner/manufacturing emphasis on personal responsibility with guns as it led towards fear mongering as a sales strategy.
Mine’s probably nostalgia tinged but here goes: FFVII, VIII, IX, and X I love the setting, I love the mechanic changes between the series from materia giving various boosts in 7 to the actual spell slots changing stats in 8 and the summons in 9, and blitzball in 10. The story for each was unique in their own world ending way and beautiful to run through. I replay them probably once every three-five years or so but they mark a high point for me. Adding to the list, Demon’s Souls. I never fully understood the storyline behind it but the sequencing of zones around the central hub and the combat are some of my favorite aspects. I need another play on that soon… It would probably be a little weeby of me to take some life lessons from them but they did help me to understand that hard decisions sometimes have to be made that include personal sacrifice and doing things that are unpleasant in order to move everyone forward and up.
I will continue to complain about people who only show up once every four years and bitch about the choices. I do outreach pretty much every year in my local area for whatever election is up next, so seeing apathetic assholes who try to push that apathy on others instead of standing for what they believe the other three years is still going to rankle with me. If they can’t hold their convictions and get involved then they should shut the fuck up about not voting when they can’t bring themselves to. Don’t vote, fine, but if you’re not putting in the work for change don’t try and bring everyone else down with your lazy shit.
Wild take, maybe they should get the energy from a closer renewable source. Like offshore wind farms and current turbines located nearby? You can find a million bad ideas for literally any subject because greedy people want government money, but that doesn’t mean the underlying idea isn’t sound. Morroco is just a quarter of the world away, which makes this specific idea stupid.
Man, imagine if we had continued normalizing relations instead of a swerve back into “but the communists!!!” under the felon-president.
We might have been able to avoid this, though it’s from Fox so they’d probably be calling US supported spy stations as Chinese anyhow.
