Good Lord what a dystopian future we live in. I was born in the 70s when the universe was fairly normal and the dream was still something you could achieve. I’m kinda glad I’m old and won’t see how bad it will get here.

My wife and I have a deductible of 9,000 - It pretty much means I’ll hope a broken toe heals correctly and not see a doctor. . It didnt and now hurts most of the time. I have food and gas money tho.

I don’t agree with this… I use Govee everything and control it through Google … I can’t imagine forgetting a Google password. I don’t care much about privacy on my lighting control. Yes everything is over complicated but pick a brand and a control device and you’re fine. Before I consolidated I had 4 different lights and controlling apps and if I messed up a stored password I could easily reset one of them using an email addy …mostly disposable ones

My mom died when I was 20 and the old man sold the house and took off with anything of value while I was just out of electrical engineering and there was a big economic downturn in the early 90s … I crashed on people’s couches in crack house neighborhoods and sometimes slept under bridges or highway overpasses… Had no car - no job and lucked into a job at Sears selling PC’s back when windows 3.11 was king. I earned enough to buy a bike and bike my way to work from wherever I was crashing and bought a damned pink barbie backpack from a tag sale for 2 bucks so I could bring my suit jacket and tie required in those days and I took a damned ribbing until I could get a better situation. People that have a fallback are lucky as hell and should consider themselves so.

Clone your drive first and then no matter what happens you have a quick click to restore. I’ve run dual boots on multiple distros for years and you learn a whole lot when things go wrong.
