Hey I hear there’s a nice restaurant out there

I agree. Both democrats and republicans pledge allegiance to capitalism above all else. This simply is not sustainable.
This is also why education and historical literacy is so important. If more people knew how that America is only successful because of (majority) socialist policies like the New Deal and Great Society then there will be more widespread support for a reinvigoration of them.
I think legacy media and centralized social media have dumbed down our populace to a point that they don’t even realize there is a way out. Everyone in the 99% stands to benefit from radical change.
Yeah why wouldn’t they keep doing this? It’s not like anyone in gov is gonna stop them
Is it so bad to know your multiplication tables? It’s lowk a quality of life thing yknow. imo it’s just a good thing to know so you aren’t entirely reliant on the calculator for an answer.
Why they passing him around like hot potato 😭
Based asf. My friends tell me I drive safer when I’m high 😭
I know bro that’s why I’m asking the question. Like if I’m running a scam where someone is supposed to fall for a pretty girl, I’m gonna use a picture of a pretty girl. The fediverse chick is not it
people don’t realize (and don’t care) there’s an alternative. The point of the reddit app is to make it as easy as possible for someone to access and consume content. I realize it takes literally seconds to set up a lemmy account but it requires way more thinking to interact with this platform than being spoon fed from an algorithm
Yeah it just surprises me that so called capitalists and billionaires would put racism above money. Especially since illegal immigrants are working for basically no pay. Maybe they have an end goal where the disposable work force is entirely black ie return to slavery or close to it
Ahh that makes the comment I was replying to make way more sense. Didn’t fully realize the extent to which Israel is founded on ethnic superiority
Kind of unrelated but where do you get your point about republicans wanting to deport Jews to Israel? I’ve never thought about it that way. I thought (in very basic terms) both democrats and republicans supported Israel because it’s a strategic location in the middle east and it’s profitable.
Israel is only 75% Jewish 🤷
Obviously they’re trying to be an ethnostate and like to commit genocide. But it’s not like they’re doing that purely bc it’s only one group of people within their borders.
One and the same… the issue of climate change is a byproduct of our political and economic systems
They’re anything but selfish lol. Firstly, there are sects of Mennonites that are integrated into modern society. Secondly, the communities they live in are founded on the idea of everyone helping each other. The extreme sects are allowed to waive their right to social security since their church already provides them a safety net. They don’t take gov benefits. Also, all of them have jobs, they’re not sealed off from the world. I live in Ohio and the Mennonites and Amish are frequently working on home repairs, building garages or barns, and sell a lot of goods from their little towns. These are honestly some of the nicest and hardest working people around.
American society is founded on the idea of religious freedom. If anything they’re contributing in a more positive way since they don’t seek to combine their religion and the wider world (as compared to a MAGA “Christian”)
Ehh, mennonites just want to keep to themselves and their communities. Obviously they’ve got some problematic beliefs, but they would never force them upon anyone or go out and try to be missionaries. Typically they don’t vote or participate in local government.
Found this interesting article about OH and PA mennonites and their opinions on the 2016 presidential election
No such thing as racism against a religion 😬 Jews aren’t a race despite what zionist media would tell you.
Not saying that anti-semitism is acceptable and all Jews are evil, but I don’t think Jews are so special that they can be considered more than a religious group and given an apartheid state
If anything they’re getting more tourism after the camps. Obviously now they’ve evolved beyond just housing Salvadorans, but their initial installation made the country a lot safer (at the cost of authoritarianism and unfair policing. Not trying to justify them, but the country is “technically” safer)
