A headline can be unfortunately written without it being a grand conspiracy my guy. CBC is pretty good - this headline misses the mark imo as it hides the fact that they were convicted on some counts.
Gotta love how they try to hide the guilty verdict on some counts behind “not guilty of most”
The commodification of our most base needs, such as romantic relationships, is truly troubling. So much unrest because things like food, shelter, and reproduction are paywalled. Makes the population more vulnerable to fascist ideals.
The original image, and your extension, are an emergent behavior as a result of The Algorithm - due to “scarcity”, Player B (men) is (are) encouraged to roll the dice as frequently as possible.
This whole dynamic is real, results in negative interactions for both players, and is intentionally set up by the apps to maintain engagement and extract as much money via pay-to-play advantages as possible. Dating apps are rigged to give men and women bad experiences so they (largely men) become desperate enough to pay $25 a month or whatever to have an unfair advantage.
The internet (and other players!) likes to hate the players, not the game, and the only “comfort” many young men have is Tate and Co.
I agree to give them no quarter

I don’t think the plurality of people agree with your interpretation based on votes (I did not downvote). Perhaps worth examining whether your intent is being understood.
Except when they’ve publicly flosted the idea of revisiting border treaties the satire becomes outright support.
Are you thinking of NewsMax or whatever? Newsweek AFAIK is a run-of-the-mill average news source - no NYT but certainly not NY Post.
Water, that “great big tap in Canada”
I can try to write some stuff up, it’s not super complex. Core requirement for my setup is Docker + a domain. I recommend Linux host but you can make Docker Desktop work.
Let me write some stuff down this week.
I’m running a Matrix server with a FB Messenger bridge via mautrix-meta and that makes it a clear winner. Half my group chats have migrated entirely since I’ve set my close friends up with accounts in my server and they also use the bridge. The fact that people can slowly migrate chats without losing messages or groups is killer for adoption imo.
Ah that’s true, good point. Got a bit carried away.
We still aren’t paid for the rest of our NORAD hosting though, nor the highways we have to maintain to Alaska, nor…
Not so sure - yes don’t feed the trolls but we can’t just let them control the narrative. When Elon starts posting made-up polls on Twitter showing Canadians want to join the US, we need to have started the precedent already that that is a lie. I say, don’t give up any space for free.
You don’t pay us for NORAD dipshit. We’ve been trying for years and the US won’t pay up. We host your nukes, your early detection warning systems, for FREE.
Parasite.
I need to migrate off Docker Desktop for Windows and Storage Spaces but I fear the process will be difficult due to my data volume and the stupidity of Windows. I should never have gone Windows, but I wanted to use Steam Big Picture off the media PC and didn’t want to deal with getting that functional on Linux.
But Docker Desktop for Windows keeps crashing WSL and bricking the network devices randomly, and also continuously grows memory consumption until the machine reboots. Piece of shit.
First Panama. Then Greenland. Then us.
We must speak up now before there is no one to speak for us.
Agreed. This is very contingent on the follow through, but it also makes sense. There’s two scenarios:
Let’s see how it plays out.
Before we get all doomer up in here (generally fair), I genuinely believe this is a smart play and exactly in line with Carneys stated plan. Carney does believe in the carbon tax as both a way to put money in most Canadians pockets and to reduce our emissions. He has said fullstop that the Carbon Tax was effective and good. He has said he wants to “cancel the carbon tax and replace it with a consumption pricing model” - which is effectively just rebranding the Carbon Tax. And he said so directly, that the carbon tax is effective but has become too political and is an unwinnable battle politically, but the core function should be maintained. Based on his public history I do believe he’s an environmentalist, so I do trust he’ll follow through with a replacement.
I think this is smart politically because the Carbon Tax and proximity to Trudeau is essentially PP’s only play. In one shot Carney takes away the last of PP’s cards, which may be enough to cement a lead for the coming election.
Admittedly this all hinges on him actually getting a replacement in, but based on his history of public statements for the past few years, I do believe he will. If he doesn’t, feel free to come back next year or whatever and yell at me. For now, I’m huffing my hoping here.
It’s even simpler than that - the US is paying, actively, 20k USD per person at CECOT. The US is fully in control over that arrangement.
