  • Dude, Valheim and Terraria are both numbers. Don’t think there’s a single survival crafting game that isn’t numbers. Your not beating any of the late game bosses in starter armor, even existing in the areas they reside requires bigger numbers. Not so say their aren’t mechanics, but they both rely on enemies getting spongier to force you to make your gear (numbers) better. Basically if you can use gear to brute force a solution, it’s numbers.

Ninja Garden is mechanics. Shooters are mechanics. Furi is mechanics. Your power level stays more or less the same, the enemies change but don’t really get tankier, but they force new/different tactics. If you get upgrades it’s mostly to bypass older enemies which you’ve already mowed down dozens of times.

    This is all imo.

  • The point they were trying to make (I believe, and this specific argument) is that the entire basis of the opposing argument is entirely based on religion and pretty much by definition specious. There is no sky daddy looking over your shoulder, and this any morality you base on its existence is inheritetly flawed at best.

What there is are women who need timely access to medical care or their lives are at risk. This is a tangible and real threat.

So treating the issue as “Politics” only serves to dignify the flawed morality of one side while letting women die.

There was an excellent greentext from forever ago about a group who all independently rolled up their characters before session1 and somehow all rolled barbarians which leads to the creation of the muscle wizards who had spells such as:

Sleep - Hit the target on the head with a stick

  • To be mildly fair to Spotify Car Thing lasted for at least 3yrs. The worst part was, imo, it was really good. Like sure, my phone does voice commands but they work like 1/5 times. Car Thing worked nearly 100%, responded to anyone in the cars voice (pro/con depending on situation lol), and was a nice display for my preAndroidAuto headunit. Honestly I think the biggest mistake was that it was tied to a car, I used it on my desk for a while as a dedicated music control surface and it worked well. If more time went into making it just a universal Spotify controller it would have been much better as a thing. Have it mounted next to your receiver, or slap a battery in it and put it on a coffee table during a party and that would have been cool AF and requires zero phone interactions.

  • The Seven Fundamental Tenants of TST removed from any other context are pretty decent guidelines for life. #4 gets a lot of flack, but I feel like it’s counterbalanced by #7.

So people don’t have to Google:

    I. One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

II. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

III. One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

IV. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one’s own.

    V. Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.

VI. People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one’s best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

VII. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.
