I had scanned through it, and it looked like the exact same stuff that Google and Microsoft say. Paraphrasing: “we value your privacy” “we’re de-identifying your data” “the processing occurs on-device”…
Apple probably is better on privacy than other big tech corpos, but it’s a race to the bottom, and they’re definitely participating in the race.
Apple is the best on privacy though right?
James Webb didn’t do shit. The man is dead.
That link is just awful. Very difficult to tell where events are or how big they will be.
It’s definitely highly edited. It probably isn’t AI, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the editing was heavily AI assisted. I found the original source on reddit itookapicture 1 year ago, which isn’t 100% evidence, but AI was way worse then and it doesn’t have any of the telltale AI signs.
back during covid
Few people mean this literally. We all know covid is still around and will be quite possibly forever. What it means, depending on context is “during covid lockdowns” or “during covid restrictions” or really just 2020.
It’s not a pandemic anymore, it’s endemic now. Get both your shots every year now. Covid isn’t the new flu, it’s flu’s new buddy.
In California (see the plates on the car) there is almost nowhere you can get a sunrise over the ocean without seeing land on the other side across the bay or whatever. There are a couple spots where if the sun was as far south as it gets in winter then you might be able to get a shot with no land across the water. But this is almost surely not one of those.
Wrong thread
It seems like they’re planning to have it effective for 1-2 years and it takes about 30 days to become effective. That’s not great if you need an annual injection of this stuff or if you don’t know exactly when it stops being effective.
I think it would need to be more in line with IUD timeliness, which I think range from 5-10 years depending on the type.
I see drake: I downvote. Simple as.
Casualties is not the same as dead. A lot of those guys will be injured too badly to fight but not dead.
The idea that Japan was ever more technologically advanced than the US is a tough argument to make. Perhaps they had better consumer and transportation technologies, but the US led the world in nearly all other forms of technology (see silicon valley, NASA, US defense technology, etc). It’s cool the hate on the US but there’s a reason it was the world super power for decades. It’s too bad it’s turning into an anti-science christo-facist kelptocracy.
The man wants to make deals, right, so make a deal. (warning I’m an American and know just enough about Canadian government to be dangerous)
“Join” the United States of America under these conditions:
Please make this deal. Our governments are all too old to work great in this age but maybe we can forge a new design fit for the 2000s if we erase most of it and start fresh.
So you have three options, all having a bad outcome on the most important thing you care about.
One of the options maybe has better outcomes on some other things you care about.
Another option has bad outcomes in almost everything you care about, plus maybe even a worse outcome to your most important thing.
The third option is to leave it up everyone else to pick between the first two.
I know what I’d pick, what will you do?
Fix the issue with read posts. Can’t stand having to see the same top posts over and over again.
