So you don’t use any search engine at all i understand. For instance, are you confident that google is fully transparent and gives you only checked facts? No intentional skewing towards favouring websites that pay for a high ranking?

Maybe the difference between me and you is that i always check the facts …for example where they come from. If the answer is given by a human or machine makes no difference for me. The machine though gives me the links where it derived the information from… not many humans do that.

So you either crawl back in fear fuelled by a lack of understanding or you embrace new tools when they come and learn how to work with them, what can be trusted and not, what improvements can be made. 🤷🏼

Where did i say i want intransparent software that can by definition not think to try and check what facts are correct instead of doing it yourself?

If i have a question i want an answer not a bunch of links where i might find the answer to my question if i read all the pages and try to connect the dots. So yes, i want all of it.

With a shared drive over a vpn connection everyone can choose their own player. No need for a streaming server anymore. Given the mbit bandwidth, a streaming server isn’t needed anymore. Reduces load on server.

Indeed, no need to have Plex anymore. Will probably set up a family VPN and we can all stream directly from my harddrives, bandwidth is not an issue anyway.

I’m from Europe (Dutch). Unlike the US educational system, ours covers history and the various forms of governance in depth from an early age. The fact that you keep referring to a YouTube video as your main source is telling-not about the quality of the video, but about the state of civic and historical education in the US. In the Netherlands, we learn about political systems, history, and critical thinking as a standard part of our curriculum, so these topics aren’t new or exotic to us. Your reliance on a single video highlights a gap that, frankly, is seen as a weakness in the American system from a European perspective.

So… Neoliberalism is a deliberate political project, not just a label for inequality. Its policies were designed to empower the wealthy and corporations, weaken democracy, and make inequality structural and self-reinforcing. 🤭 much shorter and one doesnt have to watch a youtube video.

It is obvious how meek the Americans are. Based on recents polls more than 40% still supports the antics of the current king and the other 60% doesn’t do anything significant to oppose the idiotic decrees. People are deported, mistreated, lose their jobs thrown into poverty total disrespect of their gender etc etc and even foreign travelers put into jail without any reason. Still… Mr. President is unchallenged despite all the lies of his office and even starts arresting judges (and threatening people that make polls).

Americans have a distorted sense of what democracy is, should be. Seriously, if you think that able to choose from two almost similar political parties that never shown any interest in making life better for their electorate is the pinnacle of democracy… you are very, very wrong.

Yes, but that is not a fair comparison, these are European.
