  • I think the worry here is that the protests are only attracting tens of thousands in each venue, and a few million at most nation-wide. These numbers should be higher. 75 million people voted for Harris. Another 2 million voted for third parties. And 90+ million stayed home. Big cities should have hundreds of thousands or even millions in the street, and imagine what would happen if a cool 100m turned out nation-wide tomorrow.

The worry is that we won’t get even 10% of those numbers, and a nation of 330m will be led to Fascism by 77.5m people actively supporting it and another 90m just whistling past the grave.

  • This is why we need to move everyone over here. Everyone who is here who can still talk on Reddit should link posts to here and encourage people to leave. Alternatively go to the Denver Discord. But we need to get off Reddit. Like others have said. Reddit admins are most definitely hard-right with their heads so far up Trump and the Republicans collective ass that they can taste what they had for dinner…

  • And this is the bullshit reasoning that got us into this mess.

The time to have principles is in the Primary, where you and your buddies go out and convince the rest of the Democratic leaning people that maybe we should impress AOC or some other leftie to run in the Primaries, then convince people in places like this to vote for that leftie in the Primary. Once the Primary happens, you have to weigh what happened and will happen, and vote accordingly. By not voting, the people you’re insisting I have compassion for voted for the Shitgibbon and everything he has done. Harris might have continued funding the IDF, but because of the people you’re sucking up to here, Trump is directly supporting the genocide with an eye for preemo real-estate after it’s said and done.

Don’t be stupid and enable that cruelty. Wait. Too late for that~!

  • Not quite,

Overall, 50 percent of those polled said they disapprove of “recent tariffs announced by Donald Trump,” split between 39 percent for “strongly disapprove” and 11 percent for “somewhat disapprove.” By contrast 39 percent said they approve, of which 21 percent did so “strongly” while 18 percent did so “somewhat.”

It is still disappointing that 39% will align with Trump despite all of this, but keep in mind that there’s a floor to Trump’s support numbers. We’ll never be able to approach all of them.

Let’s see what happens on the undecideds over the next few months as the impact of Trump’s tariffs hit. Heck, keep an eye on that 18% “Somewhat Approve”. That’s got to make some of the GQP reps a bit nervous!

  • I utterly disagree. For most people, the manual, wiki, or source code is undecipherable gibberish. For many others, it’s an investment of time they may or may not have. Even I, a seasoned tech vet, sometimes just want to have something work without having to sit down for hours to make it work. If I have a problem, I reach out to the community to see if someone else has had the problem I have had so I can benefit from their hours of labour to find the thing that fixes the problem. Your RTFM is just noise to their signal, which I could definitely do without. Respectfully, in the theme of the post we’re replying to. ;)

  • This is a great article, more than just bait for “You voted for leopards eating faces and now you’re surprised that a leopard ate your face” comments.

There’s a great opportunity for Dems here, if they are willing to take it. Point out to the conservative little people that Trump’s friends are the rich and powerful and the little conservatives will get nothing and like it. Highlight that Trump is hurting farmers so he and his rich buddies can get a tax cut. Remind them that the GQP doesn’t care about people. It only exists to get stupid rich off of everyone’s labour.

  • What might be being protested? Lesse…

    • Late Social Security cheques for people who depend on them to pay their bills. This includes elderly and disabled people.
    • Lost jobs and the loss of the paycheques for people laid off by both DOGE and the economic chaos the shitgibbon in chief is producing.
    • People who have done nothing wrong being sent to a gulag in El Salvadore, and everything that entails.
    • Attacks and erasures on people’s gender identities. You won’t care of course, but many of us do because after they get done with people they tag with the foreigner label, they’re coming after transgendered people next, then after that, they’re coming after the rest of us. We’ve seen this play before. We’d like it to end without going to World War 3 to de-Nazify us.
    • Attacks on our friends in Canada and Mexico and Europe and so on.
    • Increasing inflation.
    • Decreasing opportunities.
    • Unelected billionaires trashing our government.
    • Naked Fascist displays.

I could go on, but I know you’re not here to be enlightened. If you were, you’d just google that. I mean, I just used Gemini to give a report of some of the top reasons for protesting, and a comprehensive answer was presented to me in less than 10 seconds, so I’m sure you could go do so as well. Why might you not? Oh. Rule 3. I can’t answer that. :|

(I missed a few things that Gemini picked up on. The imposition of an unpopular ideologue playbook on the country. Cuts to agencies we all rely on. Those were two things I didn’t include. Goes to show there are even MORE reasons to protest, but I don’t want to spend more time than I have on this dishonest debater. My point was made.)
