It saddens me. SuSE 5.3 was a significant part of my technological experiences while living in Germany. They excel in enterprise solutions, but are not typically the preferred Linux distribution for everyday users outside of specific communities.

I found the forums to be less active than I remember from the SuSE days. I gave Tumbleweed a try last year and eventually switched back to Arch and Gentoo because most troubleshooting searches default to those distributions, it seems.
I had the same issue and ordered replacement parts from ifixit. Took 10 minutes to replace and works good as new.
You think they would lean in hard to that core constituency…
Exactly. I had the same issue where the power button would not work, and I’d have to press and hold, click, try again, etc. Replacing this and making the contact work again was enough. I did this fix a year ago and have had no issues since.
