Is this the same handy work of the 1 lone google developer that messed with the pixel 4a builds (and that were built on a personal dev machine instead of a proper build infrastructure) and sent out a shoddy battery update that required battery replacements?
If its anything like my experience, you might as well just buy a new phone now. I opted for the battery replacement for my pixel 4a, and the place I took it to (one of the only places working with google to do the replacement) was super slammed because of all the pixel 4a replacements, and I’m willing to bet they didn’t properly glue the battery in place as a few weeks later I dropped it on my carpet from like 4 feet high. The screen didnt crack as I’m using a screen protector and a case, but the center of the screen had a line across it that wasn’t cracked glass, it was the actual LCD display damaged, right where the battery should be in the phone. I’m guess the battery was just hanging out loose in the phone, and dropping it was enough to slam the battery into the screen and damage the LCD. From there it spread purple and black dead pixels across the screen over the following 24 hours until the entire LCD was dead.
After all that hassle, new phone required anyway.
