A… C… A… B
There should be a contest which region / country / city lights up the most.
So they want to platform a fascist? Giving a nazi access to their audience which he normally wouldn’t reach? This guy is part of an ongoing coup and they want to give him primetime attention?
They must think that they are very clever.
Misrepresentating talking points does not really help you in starting a good faith discussion or n swaying the opinion of (mis)informed people.
Or maybe instead of dunking China should do something that actually helps the workers of greece, who might need all the solidarity they can get.
Interesting how many different (not so charitable) interpretation of this comic exist in thr comments.
To me this of course a simplification, as its a comic and was postes in !memes
In my opinion this comic shows how nationalism can be used to pit the working class against each other even tho their class interests are pretty similar, no matter which side of the border they are.
I would like to know how you feel about the [email protected] community and if you think it has a place on slrpnk.net. This has also been a topic in the moderators chat on movim.srpnk.net for a bit.
Discussions around voting and US politics in general gets pretty heated. Even on slrpnk.net where I usually expect good faith exchanges, I had a few situations where the hostility was really noticeable. So please try to be understanding and kind to each other.
I made the community about not voting. That can include anti voting sentiments (I understand that as “voting is bad”), but also aims at those just not wanting to participate and those not able to participate. I can see how this distinction might not make sense for everybody, so feel free to ask for more clarification :)
I don’t want to create unnecessary divisions or drama on slrpnk.net or with other instances, so I am definitely fine with shutting [email protected] down if it constantly leads to that. I can see how [email protected] showing up on the local feed can be annoying to some and might result in people commenting on those posts to voice their discontent with the community. I appeal to you to focus on the positions and goals we have in common instead of the differences. Because I believe that will result in a way better experience on slrpnk.net for all of us.
already assumed Lemmy was predominantly male but I wonder just how skewed it is?
Lemmy.ca did a survey that gives us a glimpse into that.
87% reporting as male gender, 7% as female and 6% combined as non-binary, genderfluid, other, of the users who opted to answer the question.
Thanks to @[email protected] for mentioning that in a recent thread.
Tbh I think that 2xc should never be opened again after we close it. Instead we could redirect people to other communities that focus on womens issues, perspectives and that succeed in creating a welcoming enviroments for women. Additionally maybe provide helpful links and ressources for those that want to start their own vision of a community that center women. (i would be willing to contribute to that)
I am really happy to leave that name behind, hopefully for good.
Yep lets lift each other up and focus on how to do that. Its not helping when we talk down on our friends, comrades and allies when they share their dreams.
I agree with you. What would be the use of those patrols if not to police behaviour?
Maybe someone with more historical knowledge could expand on the meaning of “Black Panther style community patrols”.
