Another election brings another round of promises from politicians trying to win votes, but how many did the last government keep? It’s likely more than you think.

Don’t let the Libs or Labor fool you that there’s “not enough money”.

We could have free school, university, full free healthcare, and more. We could have it tomorrow. The money IS there.

The miners are getting all of the wealth out of the ground and paying $0 tax.

The gas industry are not even paying to get the gas out of the ground, and they pay $0 tax.

    The reason?

The Libs and Labor get fat, over paid jobs as ‘consultants’ with the miners when they leave public office.

This is corruption in Australia. The libs and labor letting their mates take it all for free. Billions worth every year. Then the fat jobs await them.

Put them both last on the ballot. Fire their corrupt asses, and get the public money back from the miners, to fund a healthy and wealthy society.

I’d like to see a comparison between labor and coalition governments, if 66% is the average across government and this one achieved 70% and the Gillard/Rudd one “similar levels” then I assume the Coalition ones statistically break more promises.

It would be good to see the actual results though, as it might show that both parties are in fact not the same after all.

Personally, I don’t want the Coalition to keep the promises I’ve heard so far.

The parties obviously aren’t the same, I haven’t seen anyone say that here. In fact, I prefer one far more than the other and my preferences reflect that. But both are inadequate. The false dichotomy people keep implying, despite the consistent rise of minor parties and the crossbench, is bloody irritating. (I know your post is talking about parties that have held government and there are only two of those, I’m referring to the “both parties are the same” line)

    Lemme save you some time:

    • 70% delivered (vs 66% most governments)
    • 20% failed to deliver
    • i guess that leaves 10% as thwarted,…

Which promises matter depends on you

I’m never quite sure how much info to quote in the submission body for links like this, since with those summaries I imagine very few people will actually bother to read it now. Maybe most people wouldn’t bother to read it either way though, idk.

Sorry, no intention to be critical of your post. I would have done exactly as you did.

        And thanks for posting it!
