Late last week Volvo Group North America announced it planned to lay off hundreds of workers at its Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks operations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia over the next three months. The global truck maker is taking the action to “align production with reduced demand for our vehicles,” a company spokesperson said.

I wonder what Volvo was doing in September / October. Did they make any political donations? Did they explain to staff that this would be the likely outcome if trumping tariffs were imposed?

Edit: not saying it’s Volvo’s fault necessarily, I’m genuinely curious.

Aktiebolaget Volvo also owns Renault Trucks, but I don’t think that’s very popular in the US.

This is not to be confused with Volvo Personvagnar Aktiebolaget (“Volvo Cars”), as Volvo Cars was sold off Zhejiang Geely in 2010.

Don’t forget construction and landscaping so that we can have the great opportunity of building apartments we can’t afford to live in and offices we will never work and then take care of the shitty, uninspired plantings outside of them ❤️

We’re seeing so many beautiful layoffs, just the best layoffs you can imagine. And of course windmills.
