Gotta distract from the grift. Whip up the MAGAt morons and make them blame gay people for their problems and they won’t even notice you yoinking their social security, their pensions, health.

Wish someone would introduce a ban for being a bigoted PoS republikkkan…

I was recently watching the episode of A Handmaid’s Tale where a woman can’t travel with her wife and child because their marriage isn’t recognized anymore and sadly thinking “this is really going to happen soon”

When have you had to be married to travel together? Never, and there’s nothing to indicate that would ever be a thing introduced. Stop hand wringing.

Well that would just fall under the general category of DEI marriage. The only true marriage is between two white men, but not in a gay way obviously.

I’m queer, and fortunately in the UK. But this still fucking hurts and scares me, mainly because of how it’ll effect the community in the US but also for me.

Lgbt people in the US can see these headlines and end up living in denial about there sexuality, living lies, being miserable and sometimes even killing themselves. Anti gay people feel vindicated by this shit, and say and do things to LGBT people they meet.

For myself, it influences the bigots through the world. Even in my professional workplace there’s colleagues that aren’t positive about it. We can get targeted for bullying or worse.

    It’s just so sad

Standing is an antiquated concept at this point. Particularly when it comes to attacking queer rights. They can do whatever they want.

In this case they’re joining a number of other states in trying to overturn Obergefell, they’re flat out ignoring Varnum and the state situation.

That’s not how you petition the Supreme Court.

Yet another Republican “patriot” who flunked civics 101.

How about we just stop honoring Republicans’ right to marriage? They’re all abusers anyway so it’d probably save some people’s lives.

Adultery is certainly abuse, if nonconsensislly risking the partner’s health and life due to STI.

they just wanna ‘ask’? and not do the actual dirty work (and unpopular–a majority of that state supports same-sex marriage) of writing and passing a state law that conflicts with obergefell, and then defending that law as it is challenged up the judicial ladder?
