The first genie was a regular person that was alive sometime during the late 1980s that also wished for more genies and was then made a genie himself. Genies appear when you “rub the lamp”.
“Rubbing the lamp” is possibly a symbolism for sexual intercourse. It describes the exchange of sexual services against “favors”, i.e. wishes.
