No, but as a heterosexual man I was brought up to not talk about feelings openly and made fun of for showing them. My family was pretty against that too, with jokes about the “limp wrists” etc. It’s hard to get over that.
Things are definitely getting better, none of my family would talk like that now, and my brothers relationships with their sons look a lot healthier and open, and now my brothers and I actually talk about feelings and mental health.
