I’m sorry that you didn’t get to pretend it wasn’t happening (because your guy/gal did it) and could more comfortably stay in your armchair. But find a way to stay in the armchair you did, by reframing it as “well, I did my duty, not my fault! Bring out the guns and see if they learn their place!”.
