So what? They’re still governed to similar speeds. I have a regular bike and e-scooter, and I pass and get passed by people on both all the time.

Most people cannot ride a bike at anywhere close to the speeds that an e-bike can hit. I pass professional cycling teams daily on my e-bike because I can do 20mph. The average professional cyclist seems to struggle to maintain 15+mph. I only get passed by a normal bicycle maybe once every few months, and those guys and gals have gastrocnemius’ that are about as big as my waist. My current e-bike has just under 2500 miles on the odo, my previous one blew up at just over 11,000 miles. Oh, and technically both e-bikes could do 25 mph, that just wears out the motor in less than 1000 miles.
