Agree with antifascist stuff. Just nitpicking the fascist idiot’s idiotic words: what the hell is an example of a non-politically-motivated assassination?? isn’t every assassination politically motivated?

      isn’t every assassination politically motivated?

We can go further and describe everything we do and every way in which we interact with others as “politically motivated” because politics is literally just dealing with someone else. If there were two people left on earth, there would be politics. If there was only one person left, there would finally be no politics.

And that’s my platform when I run: no more politics 2028! lets gooooo!

Riegel could have done better here; his comeback isn’t really that smart. See, this same script works exactly the same in reverse:

    • right winger: “Down with pedophiles!”
    • left winger: “Down with JK rowling and <insert right-wing anti-lgbt nonsense>”
    • right winger: “I just said down with pedophiles. Telling that you took that as an insult to your politics.”

      Your counter-example doesn’t make sense.

In the picture in this post, the person who read the “down with fascism” message expressed disappointment with the person’s message, thus revealing that they are associating fascism with their own political leaning.

In your example, the left-winger just mentions a name of someone else they don’t like in response, which isn’t even connected to the topic.

You’re missing the point that certain political ideologies have very strong connections with each other. Except one side is arguably connected to many much worse terms.

You can say “down with authoritarian marxists!” and you might get a few tankies to pipe up and say “wow I can’t believe you are attacking the glorious people’s blah blah blah” to which you can say “aha called out your politics!” but nobody really takes tankies seriously anyway nor are they a threat to modern nation-building the same way they were a century or two ago.

It doesn’t matter that we’re correct that right-wingers are fascists while they’re wrong that we’re pedophiles. The rhetoric works exactly the same in either case.

As I responded to the other commenter, right-wingers are obviously well aware that left-wingers will call them fascists, even if they do not consider themselves fascist and hold a negative perspective of fascism. I consider pedophiles bad but I’m aware that right-wing people are going to call me one just because I’m gay.

In a flipped conversation, where the third commenter is a right-winger who says “look, you didn’t deny being a pedophile!,” I’m sure they would take a screenshot of the conversation and post it to twitter and get lots of upvotes since that looks like such an own. They’d probably even say they can tell by my disappointment that I was implicitly acknowledging I’m a pedophile.

If your clever comeback sounds exactly as smooth coming out of the enemy’s mouth, it’s not a very good comeback.

Well yeah, obviously. The right wing, regardless of whether they consider themselves fascist or not, are obviously aware that left is going to call them out for being fascists. Just as I’m aware that when right-wing people say “pedophiles” they likely are talking about queer people. It’s not going to go over anyone’s head.

The old 3.5e Epic Level Handbook had 10th level spells, and the rules surrounding their use.

So, maybe you could use a 10th level spell slot to stengthen Wish?

I haven’t played D&D this century, and the last Pathfinder I ran was lower level and we only did 1 or 2 actual play sessions before scheduling fell apart. (Also, I’m a pretty bad DM, even working from an existing published campaign; people just want me to be GM because I can remember rules.)

“I cast that wish at level 9” is a weird phrasing. So far as I know Wish is already level 9, so there’s no other level to cast it at. Older editions had “limited wish” but I don’t believe they had upcasting. It feels very “how do you do fellow children”

Yeah this happened once during the 2020 July protests in Serbia. As we walked, we passed a WW2 memorial and the guy leading the group took a moment to stop, comment on it and chant “death to fascism” a few times. Then out of the blue two guys started yelling “death to communism”.

To be fair, “death to fascism, freedom to the people” is a communist slogan known by everyone from ex-Yugoslavia, but getting triggered by someone disavowing fascism right next to a statue that shows how fascists murdered civilians in raids in your own city is… worrying.

For some reason there seems to be this idea that everything must either be fascist or communist or somewhere between. Like they don’t believe in the existence of other political philosophies.

They’re obsessed with the political spectrum being one-dimensional, it isn’t.

The next chant should be “death to fascism, death to capitalism”

Fascism is a feature of capitalism, not a bug. We need to go back to the correct timeline. Socialism was the improvable system. Capitalism is social darwinism (read: a lie)

feel free to prove that point. it is insane. capitalism has never worked for the people, in any country. whereas socialism has worked by itself and for the people very well. the red scare propaganda of “big bad communism” is a hoax. but besides that, the western states had to kill many socialist leaders and destablize many socialist countries (please read about it, its disgusting) to make them seem “unable to work”.

The Minnesota ones are particularly interesting. The Democrats had a one-seat advantage in both chambers of the Minnesota legislature. The assassin specifically targeted one Democratic member of each chamber. The Minnesota House is now tied, and the Senate will be tied until Hoffman is able to work or (or Minnesota allows it, I’m not sure) is about to designate someone to vote for him.
